Proposals are invited for papers of 20 minutes on different aspects of utopias, dystopias, utopianism and anti-utopianism as they manifest themselves in literature, politics, society, economics, art, and culture. The conference language is English. Sessions conducted in other languages are also possible (minimum 2 papers). Abstracts (approx. 250 words) should be submitted by e-mail as file attachments in MS WORD to l.gruszewska-blaim@ug.edu.pl 

These should include:

1.       name and affiliation,

2.       e-mail address, title of paper,

3.       abstract

4.       3 keywords,

5.       multimedia requirements,

6.       schedule restrictions.

Full registration fee is 180 euro or 700 zl, and 10 euro in cash paid at the conference. The fee includes teas, coffees, buffet lunches, two evening receptions, social activities and a shuttle from the Warsaw airport on two indicated dates: 6th July at 6pm and 7th July at 10:30am.

An optional conference fee is 120 euro or 480 zl, and 10 euro in cash paid at the conference. The fee includes teas, coffees, conference dinner, social activities and a shuttle from the Warsaw airport on two indicated dates: 6th July at 6pm and 7th July at 10:30am.

PLEASE NOTE: The EURO fee is payable by credit card while the ZLOTY fee can only be paid by transfer.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: In answer to several queries, we are extending the deadline for the conference fee payment until June 3rd 2010.

A provisional conference programme will be sent out on June 5th. We are planning keynote lectures on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, regular sessions will start on Wednesday, 7th July.

In case of cancellation before 1st July the participant will receive a 70% refund.

No refund will be offered if cancellation notice is received after 30th June
